Canal Park Development Association (CPDA) is coordinating a two part, limited-entry landscape design competition on behalf of the District of Columbia Office of Planning and the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation. The competition is facilitated by a grant provided by the National Endowment for the Arts' New Public Works program.

CPDA is administering a two-step RFQ/RFP limited-entry competition and is seeking to pre-qualify three to six design firms or design teams to participate in the design competition. A stipend will be awarded to each of the selected participants to underwrite a concept design entry in the competition. CPDA intends to enter into contract negotiations with the winner of the competition to provide professional landscape architecture and engineering design services for the park construction project, which will be funded at an estimated total project cost of $6 million.
